Cats, running out in front of motorists since ages ago

Does anyone know the logistics as to why Cats wait till the absolute worst moment to run in front of cars and bikes? I think it's safe to say I'm more scared of cats then other road users, at least you can somewhat predict what other road users are going to do!

Cats calculate the highest probability of making you arse off and use that to determine take-off moment. They figure they have nine lives so what the hell?

There is a dog out our way, it is uber quick and silent. Just runs out at you with no warning, gives me the screaming heebie jeebies every time.

There's a particular breed I see often that causes problems: Asiaticus cagerificus.

Don't stop for them if you're unfortunate enough to hit one, they're not cute anymore when you've broken their back and they've shat themselves. Stupid little buggers

My stupid cat seems to think the best way to avoid getting hit by a car is to stop in the middle of the road and play dead.

Hell yes! I had a rather large dog chase me down the road when I had my GN250 (we need a poo pants face....) scary as hell, especially when they are keeping up with you!

    Oh - Really??
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

There was one lived across the road from me years ago used to do that. But then one day he goofed and ran under the front wheel...didn't ever chase me again.

Not had a cat, but did get a small terrier shoot out in front of me in Paerata once coming home from school on the GN - how I didn't end up running it over I'll never know. The wild rabbit which ran in front of me in heavy fog while on the bandit didn't fare so well...
