    Slowpaced social rides

    HI All
Last daylight savings period here in Wellington, I organised a slowpaced ride aimed at those working their way through the licenses to Full motorcycle. They were held each Tuesday evening, the starting point and route varied each week to give new riders exposure to a variety of road surfaces.
I've been asked to run them again, but can not commit to being available every week for six months. My thought this year is to gather a team of experienced riders willing to be ride leaders and TEC's, and organise a roster, taking turns so the load does not fall on just one person.
To this end I need to compile a list of riders willing and able to do this before I advertise the rides around high schools, bike shops and riding instructors.
We only have a few weeks to get this together, so I need names by September 9th.

As a guide, I am looking for riders who have held a full license and been actively riding for 10 years or more, who can demonstrate a commitment to ongoing training and who have a heart for learner riders and a good understanding of the difficulties faced. There is a bit of wiggle room in these criteria, if you are keen but don't quite meet them, get hold of me anyway and we can talk about it.

    Thumbs up

    Hey Ratti,
I don't consider myself an experienced enough rider to mentor but would like to support your rides this year (since I did a terrible job of it last year!).

On ya luv! Cheers, Ms Piggy

WT, I'll swing by the shop and talk to you about it
James, was thinking probably the end of the season, once we have had time to get confidant and gain a high level of skills. Most noobs should be good to go in 4-5 months.

Am I at least allowed to weave my way at high speed through the accident sites?

If your bike is not directly involved in the crash, then do whatever you like and take the consequences. all bikers should take full responsibility for their own actions.

Drag that fella of yours out as well...

It's not so much about mentoring, that is a whole different game and I believe needs specialist training to do it properly. these rides are slow paced social rides accompanied by senior riders and aimed at less experienced riders.
they are fun and low stress, and judging from feedback last year and so far this season, there is a need for them.

go on, you know you want to come along

I work shifts ratti, but would be willing to help out on the nights I can///
TEC or helping a rider... wherever I am 'needed'..... I certainly cant go onto a 'roster' as my job has its own 2 weekly roster and various starting times within that.

    gotta love shiftwork !!!
