    Kawasaki steering lock cover screw?

    Hi,

I am replacing a broken steering lock on my 1980 Kawasaki KL250. There was a small screw holding the sliding key hole cover onto the frame. I was able to remove the old one using vice grips. I have bought a new screw from the dealer to replace it but am unsure how to put it in. It has no screw driver slot in the head as shown in the picture attached. Vice grips aren't a very nice way of puting it back together was hoping to avoid damaging the new screw. Does anyone know the correct method for putting these types of screws in?

    Thanks.

Just tap it in gently with a hammer.

It's called a drive rivet, and that's exactly how you install 'em.
Go soothingly on the grease mud, as there lurks the skid demon
