Not my cup of tea by any means, but I have enjoyed your thread and the pics. Did I miss it or have you said what the base bike is?

    An old 250 twin Honda.

You can follow the build through the magazine, which has more photos and more detail on how things are done. I've gotten positive comments on the fact I happily talk about all the fuck ups and how I fixed (and learned from) them.

Still a few little bits to tidy up in regards to fabrication, but enough is completed that I've moved towards prep, paint, and finishing for some parts. Might as well - while they dry I can work on the rest of the fab.

If you've seen my other post about heat paint, I've haven't found anything suitable for what I wanted so I've now sanded all the engine cases, then scotchbrited them. All chrome has just been scotchbrited.

First picture shows the difference between scotchbrite and chrome. Looks horn to me.

Right fork lower, and side on of engine casing

Last coat of clear drying (L-R) on the horn cover, brake linkage, and chain adjuster plates.

Just wanted to share a tank I'm finishing up - my first attempt painting! Lots of holding my breath, and heart pounding hoping something doesn't get fucked on it!

I got to tidy up the bracket for those load resistors, and paint it. Then tidy the wiring. Took it for a ride around the block and it was fun as shit, except over those speed bumps at speed nearly bounced me off the bike.

Not sure I want to do to much riding on it just yet, until I know there's no ghosts in the machine. I'd hate to hit the road and something drastic happen just cause I didn't fix or replace something old.

Would love to hear it go by though, and get it onto a 100K zone and see if it can get there and if I can hold on. At 60k, it was getting hairy!

Just need to tidy the wiring and the bracket.

Also discovered (Thanks Mum!) a problem with the rear fender knocking, so I'll need to get two new specialized bolts machined for it, and find some rubber strips with adhesive backing.
