    North Canterbury Rider Training

ACC and Ecan Subsidised Training courses starting in North Canterbury.
Get some of the money back you pay for your rego Licence and invest in some training - skills for life!

Locations will be either Rangiora or Kaiapoi.

Visit http://www.2drivesafe.com/html/mb/lessons.html or email us info@2drivesafe.com for more info and dates.

    We run 4 courses

Slow Pro for anyone to develop those slow riding skills which save you having to duck walk your bike around the petrol station or car park and includes emergency braking and counter steering practice around those right of way violations we all face every day.(4 Hour Course)(5-8 per course) Running on 5th & 19th Oct, 5th & 19th Nov, 7th & 21st Dec.

Kick Start is for new or returning riders and builds up your skills on the road. Some theory then lots of practice (4 Hour Course)(max 3 per course)Includes pre ride checks, braking, gears, positioning for safety and using the system of motorcycle control.Running 24th Sept, 12th & 26th of Oct & Nov, and 14th Dec

Torque is a 6 hour course aimed at someone who already rides regularly and wants to keep safe and develop their skills to a higher level. Some theory then practice then on the road we go(max 3 per course) running on 1st Oct, 2 Nov, 3rd Dec.

Apex is a full day (8 hour) course involving some theory work and training to ride at an advanced standard. Focusing on safety, positioning, limit points and visual clues. Lots of K's, only 2 per course so lots of instructor feedback. Running 15th Oct, 16th Nov & 17th Dec.

We also offer 1 on 1 instruction tailored to your needs that ACC subsidise for the first 2 hours (basically half price)

We deliberately keep the numbers low so you get that personal one on one contact with the instructor and get as much time as possible to practice and develop your skills and attitudes. For the on road courses we have bluetooth radio contact to get the most from your time.

Not subsidised but also available is one on one training for the Basic Handling Skills Tests for those who want to get their class 6L.

2 Drive safe is not about riding the fastest on the road, but equipping you to make every ride a safe and fun one.

Look forward to seeing some of you there! D

Announce New Subsidies for courses and Christmas vouchers!

So just to keep everyone in the loop so to speak we have just had a meeting with ACC / ECAN and they have decided to increase our subsidy on all our courses as they want you guys out there to be participating in our training courses and they figure that to some degree price is a barrier.

So across the board all our post licencing courses ( i.e. once you have your licence Class 6 or 6L or 6R) will be costing only $50 yes only $50

To re iterate thats only $50 for a 4 hour slow pro or kick start course

only $50 for our 6 hour Torque course

$50 for our Apex advanced 8 hour course
and $50 for 2 hours one on one training on whatever you want to work on with your riding, whether its open roads, hills, bends, or town riding

This is a limited pot of money so once its used the training will no longer be subsidised and revert to full price.

We have got vouchers available if you want to buy one of these courses for someone for Christmas. just visit us at our web site www.2drivesafe.comhttp://www.2drivesafe.com, or send us an email at info@2drivesafe.com.

The courses will be starting again next year as we are taking a break over the Christmas hols and will be running some saturdays, sundays and wednesdays throughout jan / feb and march. We are setting the dates soon.

In the meantime Merry Christmas to all KB'ers and blessing you all with a great family time and a prosperous New Year

I can certainly give unqualified support to Duncan's business, even though I'm in the North Island. Duncan is a senior Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM) member and he was my Observer (mentor/instructor) on a check ride for IAM membership when he was visiting the north island. Being tested at this level is a demanding and stressful process but I have to say that Duncan's friendly and positive approach, plus his huge experience made the whole process a pleasure.

    Highly recommended folks!

If I can put in an impartial plug for Duncan and his riding/driving school (he is a fellow member and Examiner for the Institute of Advanced Motorists), I had an email from a friend this morning who attended his weekend course and said that it was the best training course by far that he'd ever attended.
