I'm keen for some camping trips over the summer, there are some cool spots in the bay and saves the haul home in one day.

Christmas is coming having worked for the Germans for 25 years with excellent customer service and communication you take it for granted, and it always amazes me the lack luster efforts you get from some companies.

Some nice spots down the Mohaka with a DOC camp close by I rarely fail to catch a feed

Made a last minute decision to day trip up east Cape to the lighthouse yesterday. Was planning on camping at various stages but weather hasn't been looking tent friendly.
Needed a ride so about 804km of pure adventure in one day
Some parts of main highway north of Tokomaru are still truly shocking but nearly all are signposted with roadworks signs, paint or cones.
Was very windy, nearly end the ride windy and bit wet near Ruatoria on way up but other wise good trip.

Watch this space.... tent currently strapped on back of bike ready to deploy....
I did contemplate that idea up there but just would have meant riding home in even crappierweather nextday....

No just bottom half only of my tank bag with tools and air pump etc.
Ended up camping at Tutukaka, primo spot walking distance to pub and store.
Visited Marsden point, cool visitor centre with scale models
Sail looks big due to cAmera angle, not an issue at all

Will do a write up when I get home as will have to look up some of the better gravel roads I found on google maps.
But in short after Tutukaka I planned on blitzing straight up to Cape and back to a place to stay but..... couple wrong turns, traffic, roadworks, burying the DR in a sinkhole in Mangsmuka gorge, pub banter.... ended up staying with contact at Houhora next then made the Cape yesterday late morning.
    Awesome journey more later....
