Didn't start out great weather wise, we had some light drizzle in the car park, but once we got past Halswell the skies parted and all was good.

We ended up doing Old Tai Tapu Rd out to Little River. Had a nice dinner and back to town via Gebbies Pass.
They have put new asphalt on the 25kph corrugated corners of Dyers Pass.

If it's a nice I was thinking of turning of past Dunsandel, Coes Ford, Motukarara, then Gebbies Pass.

I've just looked at the weather, supposed to be raining on and off all week with Fri getting worse. Argh.
I might be heading down tomorrow instead, will let you know.

At least it's going to cool down a bit

Aw crapola, didn't head down to Methven during the day like I'd planned and now lost track of time so I don't get a ride at all! Bollocks.
Hope it was fun, looks like a nice day for it

After tagging on behind the other three at Glentunnel, t'was a bit blustery, the poor wee DR earned it's keep on the Windwhistle straights.
I can recommend The Blue Pubs grilled chicken salad.
And the run back under a clear sky and full moon was magic.

ID:	308734Was a super ride, Loburn-Oxford-Methven. Yes very windy but roads were great and hardly any traffic. Only 3- 4 of us! You lot missed out! One knarly patch of roadworks on Oxford side of Waimakariri gorge, wind had blown all signage and cones over, if it was even there? and we had little warning of deep shingle. Neat to have Shadowjack join us, and we all had yummy meals at the Blue Pub in Methven. Return ride beautiful under clear skies and full moon, wind had died down considerably.
Entire ride a little long for my Mille's tank I clocked 273km total. I flagged a combine harvester working through the night and they had a mate drop me off a few litres. Not an unpleasant wait under such a sky. Hmmm 20 litre tank... and such problems had been discussed over dinner. Where are the pay-at-pump stations in Canterbury? South Island?
Methven a lovely ride for WNR, refuel before dinner for me!

Anything happening tonight? (May be along - depends on red tape at NZPost to collect a parcel...)

No replies and an icky wind doesn't look good for tonight. Personally I have somewhere else to be otherwise I might have considered it.
