I guess that's what insurance is for,
council not responsible for a person binning on road droppings,
If you were able to pinpoint the vehicle that dropped it, then you could pursue the matter, insecure load and all that
But sadly in this instance , I would fix my ride, learn from it and carry on
To be old and wise, first you must be young and stupid.
Yeah i figured it come back to me, just thought i would ask your opinions first.
I do have insurance but only 3rd party, fire and theft with $900 excess, that and being a student means i think it will be awhile before im back on the road.
Turn it into a naked
Seen the patch , bit of banter about it at the wheatchief, few close calls ...
Could ya whack some dirt bike handle bars on it , etc - turn it into a positive to soften the blow ...... an end up with something a bit different
Good point Subike about the trailers - never thought of that but yeah given the distances those residents have to travel - lot of them overloaded
Well it was good to put some names to faces while i was out there today had to head back early from LR wife was having trouble with the twins, Group riding wasn't as bad as i thought it would be so i'll definetly start coming to more of the group rides look forward to meeting more of ya!
KB -Turning young innocent novice riders into cynical arsehole bikers since ages ago
part of the skill that makes a good motorcyclist is surface recognition.i ride over that road most days as I live in the area, and noticed the gravel there myself.Yes,noticed.
Thats because since i have been riding since 1976 I know that surface recognition is a big reason why I am still here riding.
I feel your pain,I have slid along the road a few times myself,on the track as well as the road, but I always learn from it.
As you dig into your pocket to fix up your nice little VJ22,it might help you to remember next time never to take anything for granted and always work at least one corner ahead.
At least you would have slid along on the left,so those nice little twin stingers on the right should still be shiny.![]()

So out of the WNR learners only Jen hasn't had an off. Pressures on now Jen![]()
Yes WTK and SB gave lessons on cornering, ......... without any footrests!!!!![]()
Yes well, ........................... Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Just keep peddalling the way you are Jen you are doing good without having an off.
And further to the maintenance evening next week (2nd May, 6.00pm at Wofman's place Gloucester/Fitz) how about Pomeroy's for after, just up Fitz from the WME.
And remember ...... if it hasn't got one of "Uncle Flip's" prosthetic kickers it isn't a real motorbike!!!
Yup and not ashamed to admit I made an error,
i was very fortunate not to do more damage than I did,
Converting from an heavy naked to a light weight cruiser was a learning curve,
Totally different bikes to ride, so I have to change how I rode to the style of the bike
A good lesson learnt thankfully at a slowish speed
To be old and wise, first you must be young and stupid.
from is a good learning curve
and they are inevitable and thats what makes you a better rider as the years ahead
those sphincter tightining moments you can ride away from
