I thought falling over for the amusement of others was an occupational hazard and therefore acceptable part of river crossings.
Riding cheap crappy old bikes badly since 1987

Yep, that's what river crossings are for. So we can have a laugh at those that don't make it before we go and give a hand... and then spread it round the web if it was caught on camera.

We came in from Loburn side and get to Okuku River and no one want's to go first with our bikes.
So I waid through on foot river flow is about knee height I get to the other side and turn back.
On the way back the guys are pointing at something behind me (and no it wasn't Jaws) I turn lose my footing and fall in and I'm sitting in water up past my chest, I knew that we would get wet on the ride but I wasn't expecting to be that wet.

Yes quite. Did the others come in to rescue you? I bet the ratbags stood there and laughed. These things are funny provided they don't happen to me. The Okuku. .................. Snow melt

Hey this was about you falling over. ............ The DR didn't have anything to do with it. I mean apart from taking you to where there was ..............

Yes be thankful there were no gopros around. Unlike on Wednesday night. I have a few rather dark seconds of vid complete with audio of me going down with GB!!

Well, slightly off topic but the K1100 has gone as of this AM, so you lot will have to be stuck with me on the bra-less Guzzi lookalike now; the K11 is staying local so do not wave /honk /give finger to the new owner, it won't be me!! Already wonder how long I can resist the temptation to put road tyres on the new beasty (even found the sheepskin again! - fluffy to make up for the lack of funky seat curves). Had one almost-wheelie so far - going around a corner - so maybe not.

If it's Akas again this week, be warned that the coffee @ the Hilltop is mighty tempting; they really need to get the F&C going again, then lazy asses like me would be happy to go the extra (literally).
He who shall go stately at the back and not stress out.
So Gareth what was it you said about MaxF's "Funky ass curves"? - God, now I'm worried...

Hey with all this talk of floating, and petrol being lighter than water IIRC, would the tank on this double as a flotation device?

Don't know about the rest of you but I might drop in to see Mark and Cathy at the Little River Pub on the way back. With my air cooled engines I prefer to let them cool down a bit after the climb up to Hilltop.

Anyway, BK, Gasson and Colombo, Dyers Pass, round the bays to Gebbies Pass, Millers Rd 1st left after Gebbies, 1st regroup end of Millers Rd near SH 75 (road to Akaroa), on to Akaroa. If you want a second regroup tell me at BK and we will have it at the old Rittle Liver railway station (I might need a pit stop).

Good to see you guys last night. I hope you all enjoyed yourselves and avoided on the way home.

My Italian dropped the earth line off the battery Montreal/St Asaph on the way home. (No it isn't on video) I pushed to Montreal/Cashel where I felt totally and started taking bits off. (Yes Max the light did work) After taking a nut and screw off the number plate holder, the Italian decided to go again.

Anyway next WNR PIZZA again anyone
