Being a country boy I've had experience with nearly all the aforementioned critters, back in 1974 I was going through a pine plantation near Windwhistle & took the opportunity to give my Bonnie full throttle sitting on 110 MPH (160+ K's) when a cat stepped onto the road. It was right in my line but quite some distance away, it must've heard the bike as it froze to the spot & looked at the fast approaching bike, I only had enough time to roll off the throttle & gently apply the rear brake. No way was I going to swerve! As I hit the cat I said to myself Goodbye world then hello again the bike actually got airborne off that cat & landed straight enough. I went back to make sure the cat was dead... it was totally obliterated later found fur in the chain
To this day it's still one of the scariest things that have happened on a bike.
