L-Plate Rider
Hi, can anyone help with identifying the red warning lights, three on this panel indicated with an arrow in the photo see attachment (1984 GSX 400 FW). Labels are not visible and the wiring diagram I have, does not show three warning lights. I chased the wires from the light bulb back to a sealed black box. Its not an oil pressure warning as it has a oil level switch. Thanks

From the left, Headlight warning light (either that the light is on or that the bulb has blown), Tail & Stop light warning - as per headlight, Battery, presumably fluid level but could be something else?!

After talking to a mate last night that has more experience with older Suzuki's he says he thinks it's a charge warning lamp, and that the other two are to warn of blown bulbs - just to clarify.

There ARE a lot of bikes that were fitted with batterys WITH a level sensor in them as original equipment. A replacement battery often didn't have the position in the battery for the sensor to be placed .... so the battery warning light was disconnected ... or ignored ... (or bulb removed)

From memory I think they were mostly Suzuki's and maybe a few Yamaha's that had the level warning light. Of course this was in the days before sealed batteries, so some of these young whipper snappers may not realise that you used to have to top the fluid up on batteries.

Yup, wifes MR2 has one. Took me 7 years to get around to grounding it out to stop the light on the dash
