I had been wondering what happened to the supply of Gene-O-Clean, with the departure of Ixion...

No seriously. Why is Lake Rotorua part of the Nelson Lakes area?

    I don't get it.............

Slightly different spelling, this is referring to lake Rotoroa, not Rotorua...

Nelson Lakes National Park is located in the South Island of New Zealand.
It was formed in 1956 and covers some 1,020 km˛. It is centered at two large lakes, Rotoiti and Rotoroa. The park also includes surrounding valleys (including Travers, Sabine, and D'Urville, upper reaches of the Matakitaki) and mountain ranges (Saint Arnaud Range, Mount Robert). The park is a popular area for camping, tramping and fishing.

The Eels got him I reckon....seriously.
There's some monsters in there and I know of several locals who have been chased out of the Lake by them.
That or its the Taniwha that lives there, but he/she/it is pretty benign.Gets a bit grumpy in the afternoon though.

Hard to believe my parents were able to swim in this lake as kids. Went for a run around it yesterday and it just smells like shit!

I was at school with a maori chap called Malcome Priestly (spelling sucks) and he went swimming in the Waikato river in jeans and drowned.
Nambasa/Sweetwaters? one or the other...think it was Sweetwaters because they shut it down after that loss of life.

The danger of swimming in jeans has been so well known for so long it is incredible these days that people can be so stupid.

It is also well known that shrinking jeans to fit by bathing in them and letting them dry on, can cause you to lose your legs, as was a the case about thirty years ago for one young lady.
