It could be an opportunity for bikers to get their side of the story in the media via the NZ Herald or Campbell Live.

My comment adheres to the terms and conditions but I'd be surprised if they post it. If they do they may inch slightly above rock bottom on the list of cunts that I like.

Looking at the limp wrist I suspect an old man.

I would suggest though that the best response is for someone to contact the editor and ask for a right to reply. You can't help the fact that this is the way many people see motorcyclists. If you take out the last paragraph and ignore the 18% statistic quite a few on KB will agree with what he was saying.

The problem with many "jorno's" nowadays is they're lazy buggers. It seems editors are the worse (looking at some crap that's been written in other papers over the years). Whatever happened to doing a little more research? The lazy bugger just used the stats that was already written in the article earlier on in the paper. Bikers, and some car folk, know there are more stats to prove otherwise.

Yes an editorial is an opinion piece, but very few take it as that, and if you wanted to really get your point across wouldn't you at least find some more stats to back it up? Not mooch off your reporters and leave it at that. Especially if it's from a firm that is justifying price increases. That's really lazy. And not really unbiased, is it?

It is unfortunate that the people who read this will be subjected to a completely one sided opinion that has basically followed the many mis truths and shallow commentaries that the politicians used for shafting the motorcyclists of NZ with the ACC fraud !
Hardly a solid piece of journalism and I find it rather shameful you call yourself a "newspaper" who on earth wrote this piece of crap anyway, no name !!
If I see a Waikato Times reporter at next years Charity Toy Run I will certainly raise how their paper (in this article) portrayed us as a pack of hooligans who deserve to be taxed of the road !!
    pack of Pratts !!

Hi it was an editorial (opinion piece) you were reading, not a news article.
So it expresses the opinion of the writer.
I have forwarded your email on to him.
    Regards

Do you people have no names? The “editorial” was not signed, neither was this email.

In respects to the subject matter if it was an editorial or an article makes little difference, the fact that it was published by your staff is all that matters to me and your readers.
Fact is that the article was nothing more than a Slag off at legitimate road users who have WITHOUT Doubt been targeted unfairly by the “no blame” ACC component of the registration fees, not to mention the very much so “twisted” information to enable it.

Tell me what other group of the population has been unfairly targeted ? rugby players? Bicycle riders? There are some very high stats for ACC use within these groups, but they are not singled out.

Waikato Times need to get a grip on the story and ACTUALLY tell it .
Waikato Times, HAVE NO MANDATE to establish a ANTI BIKER SENTIMENT From the motoring public !!!

Please pass that onto the nameless coward that rights such bollocks !!

    Regards

I have the feeling interacting with such idiots is liable to drag us down a bit too, I certainly didn't bother with too much spelling or grammar checks either!

    My new email-

    http://www.stuff.co.nz/waikato-times...g-bikes-to-pay

Thank you for publishing this utter drivel!

Never before have I seen such poor, one sided Journalisim make it to print/web.
Please pass on the absolute discust and anger from EVERY motorcyclist in NZ to the gutless "No Name" writer, who clearly has an issue with motorcyclists in NZ.
If you actually researched the facts on ACC statistics regarding motorcyclist claims and reported injuries you would quickly come to the desicion that this writer has made it his personal agenda to target motorcyclist (As have ACC)
The truth is we are paying for other peoples ACC cover, such as rugby players, farmers on their quads, cyclists and such.
When Nick Smith and his cronies decided to "lump" together ALL forms of motorcycle injuries (such as dirt & farm bike injuries), it did "appear" as tho motorcyclists where a high risk factor, But if you actually used some REAL Journalistic investigation (instead of just publishing this type of one sided crap!) you to would very quickly realise how unjustly we are being targeted, and forced to pay for the cover of others (as dirt bikes farm bikes etc don't pay rego fees, nor should they as ACC are now posting RECORD profits at our expensive!).
Your lack of professionalism and poor Journalisim has hit a nerve with EVERY motorcyclist in NZ, and as a group, we are VERY well informed and organised....expect repercussions! (pulling of advertising and dropped subscriptions $$$)
Please tell your so called "Journalists" to stay away from the MANY toy runs and fund raisers that we hold through out the year, as the reception they will recieve....may NOT be to their liking!
And as for the Gutless drivel who wrote this twisted article, may I strongly advise you recommend to him to either keep hiding, place a public apology or grow a pair and try selling this shit to our faces!

Absolutely Disgusted in you waikato times.
