NEED HELP with CBR250R (RR) whats the difference???

    Hi,

I just bought a CBR250 recently. I bought it off a friend, on the compliance plate it reads CBR250R 1990 and complianced in 09/01. I've tried to do my research on CBR's and didn't find much. All I know is my compliance plate reads CBR250R, but the stamp on my bike and serial reads (MC22) and inside the rear seat on the frame, it has the sticker marking it as CBR250RRL with its paint code etc...I have the CBR250RR fairings all over, and has 2 front brake discs instead of one. The Tacho also revs up to 19,000 RPM. I'd just like to know wheather it's a CBR250R or a CBR250RR????

If it is an RR why would it be stamped CBR250R on it's compliance, it's using everything else on a RR such as the twin discs and 19,000RPM.

Is there any chance I could've bought a single R with the single R motor, but with the RR instruments, brake system and fairing guards???? Is that even possible?

Sorry, I'd just really like to get this off my chest. Can some one who really knows their CBR250's please get back to me very soon. Thanks

AFAIK Early R's had single front discs while RR = double. (One main obvious difference).

    EDIT:
    And
    · CBR250(F) – MC14
    · CBR250R(H) – MC17
    · CBR250R(J, K) – MC19
    · CBR250RR(L, N, R) – MC22 <<<<<<
    /EDIT

    Tells you the rest.

If it's got MC22 on the steering head it'll be an RR, and you'll be able to go faster than your mates on ZXR250s
