    Knock knock - excuse me

I wonder if any of you guys can help a gal out please?

I managed to break my ankle a month ago, turned it into a pot hole while walking and snapped the tibia, fortunately just below the joint, so have not required pins to fix.

I apologise for asking this here, but I figure some one in here must have broken/bruised bones before and may be able to answer my question.

When my ankle snapped I went straight down to ground and managed to bruise my other leg very badly, the heamatoma is still hard and lumpy in the calf muscle. I have bruised the tibia on my other leg. The holes the gravel made are almost healed I still cant weight bare on the broken ankle ( I tried last night to see what happens, it is still too painful) but have to weight bare on the other leg to get around. That still hurts

How long can I expect to have ouchy pain from a bruised bone?

PS: Walking is far more dangerous than riding bikes

We are going to need pictures of these legs of yours in order to diagnose a time period correctly.

I rolled my ankle rather badly September 2008. I was off work until December, and on light duties, Half days effectively, until January. Physio took another 4 months 3x a week, and it is still not 100%. The Doctor at work said it was one of the worst sprains he had ever seen, and said I would have been better off breaking it, as the can immobilise it in plaster ,moon boot etc.

I don't envy you Mom. Its a bitch. But on the bright side, you have a Man Friday to look after you...

I don'y know if this helps at all though.

Might be a tricky question to answer ...

Pregnancy only lasts 9 months ... but the pain can continue for 18 years or more ... (sex can be more EXPENSIVE than motorcycling)

It's only been 17mths so far, but of course that was breaking my back. When I broke it again in July this year, I thought it would heal up fairly quick, but it's still damn sore... Gotta rest it more, but I'm so sick of resting..

Usually count on six weeks for it to come right, but your ankle will probably take a bit longer.

Slap TigerTim around the ears if you like...

I can not fault the home based care I get. My Maha is

The Emercency Doc said if I was going to break my ankle then I had done it the best way I could. I ruptured a couple of ligaments in the same ankle a few years ago, probably why I broke my ankle now

It is the bruised bones that I am curious about. My non broken leg hurts more than the one in plaster

I am looking at 6 weeks in plaster, re-xray to confirm all is good, then FREEDOM!

They are probably telling me porkies, I hope not

theres not really sure fire way to answer it, it depends on your age, fitness, health etc etc. I would guess around 5 weeks till it stops hurting and you are just sort of tender. Positive thinking does help though, if you keep thinking to yourself 'fuck this hurts, fuck this hurts', then it will keep hurting cos youll just convince yourself of it!

I bruised the bones in my thumb about two and a half months ago running over B Grade Tim, still not right. A guy at work did pretty much the same playing indoor netball a few years ago. Reconns it took months to come right, something about bugger all blood circulation in the affected area. Probably not what you wanted to hear.

Broke my ribs years ago playing rugby,
I break them at least once a month, so I cant help you with that,
But I have broken all my fingers and toes and they ache all the time, always sore ever since then, but I have broken my wrist and it didnt hurt at all, but I have never bruised a bone
Think its more dependent upon the person more than anything ae
Just try keep as active as possible on it without over doing it, will help it a bit

Start massaging that lump in your calf, otherwise they can actually hang around for an awfully long time. Doesn't have to be hardcore, just regular. As for the bone pain, bad ruck. Rest it!

Never mind that Why isn't Maha carrying you around on his broad shoulders? Any (FLAG CARRYING FAG) could do it! Best wishes for a fast and full recovery Mom.
