What are parts availability like though, both here and internationally?

It seems the main complaint about this bike is just finding parts, otherwise previous owners rated performance and reliability as high.

The Spada was imported here all official like I believe. Any good official Honda dealer should be able to get most any part direct from Honda. Or econohonda.co.nz

There is a service manual for the Spada available (it's been linked here on KB before, or google it, it's a whole pile of scanned images, I have it if anybody wants).

Also Microfiches for various bikes can be found online, I think the one below is for the Interceptor specifically but all the VTR series share a lot of stuff (eyeball is a good judge)...

NB: I have a VTZ 250, which is a grey import Japanese domestic bike just preceding the Spada, getting parts for even that isn't a problem once you work out what the part number is.

Apart from the cams and heads, it's the same as a VT250 and VTR250 (except the gear sets in the VTR)
Oil filter is CBR250/TRX450 etc etc very common.
The fuel tap can let go, MC22/NC24/NC30 ones can fit (I learnt this after buying a brand new one because they don't sell the o-ring or the diaphragm)
Brakes are common, same as VTR250/MC19 as are the forks and seal.
Steering bearings are easy to get.
Air filter is easy to get.

I ran mine for 130k and the only expensive part was the fuel tap, which as explained didn't need to be.

Tyres are common and cheap sizes.

The oil feed to the cam chain tensioner should be bored out a tiny bit and you won't have tensioner problems

    Anything else?

No, I'm sold on the Spada, thank you!

BTW, is the Spada basically a 250cc Bros?

Only the brake pads are the same, and they brake light switches, other than that, nope. (might be a few nuts 'n bolts that swap...)
It has a fancier frame than a Bros, but not a bitchin' single sided swinger.

That's a great deal for someone, I'd buy it myself, but I really don't need another small bike. (even though it has SHARK FACE!!!!!)

I know right, things with faces are just cooler. Got three of my vehicles sorted, just need to do the KR-E and the CR125...

Well, to make the numbers seem better, both of my vehicles need sorting

    Almost.
I've got a mate who picked up a Spada for just over a grand recently, not sure how good it is, I'll have to go check it over sometime.
I'd definitely own another one, I'd put MC22 fairing on it if I had another though, half fairing was nice, but it didn't look complete

Wow thats a good buy at $1K.I've been researching them and they look a whole lot better and lighter than the hornet.
If he's selling then I'd be keen as I can't find any for sale in NZ.
