One of my bug bears (what the f** does that mean???) with the iPhone is that there's no visible display to show missed calls or messages without having to physically prod it. On the plus side it has Plants vs Zombies.
maybee thats it, as I try & avoid anything MS (makes my life easier) I was just using them standalone so can't speak for their "intergartion" with other MS products.

+1 for Plants vs Zombies tho, awesome time waster

My Mrs has gone from an Android (old gig) to an iPhone 4 with her new gig and says that she prefers the Iphone for the way it syncs with her other business apps.

Mind you - her new crowd uses Lotus Notes as their backbone.

As for Blackberry at work they are great (apart from web browsing) but unfortunately are a different beast outside of Enterprise environments.
Running on BB OS6 myself, web browsing has been stable and more enjoyable than Symbian stuff.

    Pros of iPhone:
    - Syncs to exchange quite easily once the right details are given. Several clients have them.
    - They're all the same... identical. Pick up one, it's the same as the next.
    - Easy to use for the average user. Sometimes those receiving hardware need it for work, but aren't going to know it in and out.

    Cons of iPhone:
    - Welcome to the Apple eco-system. If you don't like it, tough shit. To install software, it has to be in the apple store, or you void the warranty on the device. Come again? These are thousand dollar devices.
    - Touch screen keyboard. I type a lot, logging stuff in my calendar, emails, messaging, and the screen keyboard has no feedback to where your fingers are on the keyboard. Physical keyboard every time for me thanks.
    - Similar to 1, want to replace the battery? Do this, do that, that Apple doesn't want you to... hah, not happening.
    - MS may be bad, but I think Apple takes arrogance to a new level.
    - If your work flow matches the Apple device, cool. If it doesn't, you'll be changing your workflow, as the device is not that customisable.
    - The Exchange sync experience isn't without issues. There are limits on the number of emails and folders it's happy dealing with, and following next point down, troubleshooting is hard work
    - Being simple for users to use makes it hard to troubleshoot problems, because it's not giving you detailed feedback on issues... just.. "Error"

You miss the windows mobile device? I'd love to know which version. Had a fleet of imates on 6.5, god that was terrible (try clicking menu and wait a few minutes for it to show), and MS has admitted Phone 7 is targetted towards consumers, so same bag as Apple.

Easiest way to remember it, is that everyone is suing everyone else, and you wouldn't be far wrong. Usually, they're doing it to simply stop the product from being on the market. The law suit costs big time, but the sales they receive while having their product exclusively on the market is massive.

Depending on how good the voice recognition software really is it could be a great tool for the disabled.

I find your point quite interesting... because the iphone 4s is more of an internal upgrade. Then the iphone 5 will most likely be a 'redesign' and I would assume it will be 4g too... I don't think I could justify getting the iphone 5 only 1 year after owning the 4s mind you

On a side note: I wonder how long until NZ has 4g capability...

I got an ipad2 a few months back and it rocks. The apple interface is good but its the whole appstore thing and availabilty of apps that makes it a success in my view. I don't know how well established the android app market is but it will need to be close if not better than apples to ever get a decent foot hold in the market.

Yeah you are right. I've had mine over a couple of months now and I can see the reason why. The processor and RAM are twice than my old man's laptop while the battery is 1/5 in size. Realistically using, I am lucky to get 15 hours out of single full charge (incl. facebook every 15 mins, texts, emails, calls, music, map, etc...).

Oh well... atleast they charge up fast.

Recently there was an article on Computer World magazine, or somewhere I can't remember, and they said something like around in 2013. It's got to do with the the government to disconnect the old analogue TV signal they say. What that relates to is, the 4G needs radio spectrum and right now there isn't enough of it or something. I guess it's something like FM radio frequency area or something similar. Dunno, my brain hurts.

But what I know is friends in US told me they can watch and stream HD videos on the go

    When in doubt, Google it.

The Apple Store for NZ is currently down with a message saying it is being updated.

I'm wondering if pre-orders for NZ are coming sooner than expected?

You'll have to stick to the touch screen then.
