Starting at Trish's Pies in Cambridge Terrace Wellington, I'm adding that one, next stop is the German bakery in Petone, then across to Ray's pies n fries in Paraparaumu, another one Ive added, then up to Pete's pies in Sanson, across to Andersons Pie Shop in Hawera. Then its a long haul to Regency Pies in Kamo Whangarei and then an even longer haul back to Turangi bakery. That's the North Island done.
South Island start at Oamaru's North end bakery then one of the two reccomended Dunedin bakeries, say Cottage Bakery, on to Roxburgh, bottom out at Winton and then back to Marlows in Dunedin.
Not quite NZ via pie shop but covers a lot of it.

Jimmy's Roxbough mutton pie, yep a winner. They are not some special "art on a plate" especially made for some competition pie. I have never seen them available north of the Lagonda Tea Rooms, Oamaru. A good solid spicy mutton pie.
Theres a bakery down in the old part of town mate, the wee lane that runs to the left of the Criterion pub.Pies are simply awesome.

had a "bushmans pie" at the cafe in Pirongia in the weekend. (made on premises) had a layer of steak bits, mince on top then mash and mixed veges and then egg and bacon to top it off before putting a decent crust over the top.

It was a meal in itself!!!
