Question Newish Nelson rider, introduce yourself to me if you like (Beak)

Hey guys, I'm Geoff, I'm from Nelson.

I've only been riding for about 3 months, on a Yamaha FZR250, which I've just recently crashed at low speed (something like 30km/h) when I hit a storm drain that I couldn't see in the rain on a roundabout.
    Lesson learned there.

My poor first bike was written off, however AMI have basically secured a customer for life when they gave me 4 grand for it (a bike insured for $3500) and let me keep it for $200, the price they could've gotten from the wreckers.

The damage isn't actually that much, but because they wanted to replace everything, it was expensive and was a total write-off. I could spend probably $700 on it and it'll be road legal... However with the extra money I've decided on a beautiful Suzuki GSXR 250R, in absolutely immaculate condition. I'll be riding her considerably more carefully.

Other than that, I'm 19, generally new to bikes, but looking to expand my knowledge and skills. Once I have the gsxr, I'm planning on taking a few courses with the local Pro Rider instructors.

Aaaaand I think that's me introduced!

    Welcome to KB.

It's the kiwi way. First we crash - then we take a pro rider course.
Ride it until the wheels fall off...

Welcome to the site mate, they're cool wee bikes and it's a shame to hear that you've crashed it.

    Cheers guys

I feel pretty welcome now, this does look like a pretty decent site for learning better techniques and generally getting more into the biker scene.

I just got the prepurchase report from the mechanic about the 89 Suzuki GSX-R250 I plan on buying, the mechanic basically said move as fast as you can go for that, cause every single part was in mint condition haha. Only about 4 marks on it, and all of them have been touched up, and it has near new tires. Pretty happy with my purchase to be honest, and it's only got 20k on the clock.

Does anybody happen to be selling the front fairing for an 89 Yamaha FZR250 3LN1? The windscreen popped off it, took the parts of the fairing with the screws on it with it, so that's a part I'll have to replace to get it roadworthy again.
