what ya like I suppose, there all made to excellent quality, I have the Edge jacket & Qrace pants myself.
Haven't tried out their protective qualities yet (hope never to have to) but plenty of others round have & will vouch for 'em, which is why I ended up getting the Qmoto gear. Well endorced by the KB community
While leather does hold off water, they are not waterproof as such. I use PVC overpants for wet, don't have anything for the upper yet but PVC over coat will do.
Saying that tho my commute today was round an hr & it's fair pissing out there, the only part of me that got wet was my forearms

You really do get what you pay for, if you see yourself riding motorcycles for a while spend the extra and get good gear. Get good branded gear, its expensive but its even more expensive when you buy crappy stuff then realise its crappy then buy the good stuff anyway.....
i think ill be going with Qmoto that name has came up quit a bit.
was looking at either the Edge jacket or the Vengeance jacket.
(now a bit of topic haha was looking at his videos on youtube..

are you able to buy thous hats i collect hats. and that looks very nice haha thanks.)
It depends whther you are paying for the quality of the product, the brand, or the 'styling'. Some 'lesser' brands perform very well in quality and longevity, some are crap; the trick is always identifying the good from the bad.
I bought a 'budget brand' textile jacket and pants as it was all I could afford for commuting in the UK year round. 3 years and 150,000 kms later it was still going strong. I had leathers made by Kerry in Auckland...no brand....but I had them through 3 track offs and 8 years. They are probably still in 1 piece, but I left them in the UK when I returned.
I have just bought some 1tonne gear (jacket and trousers), and it's perfoming well so far. I've got an LS2 helmet, fits well and with a fog city no longer mists up. My gloves are Hein Gericke that I've had for 5 years, and my boots are Daytona that I've had for same time.
It may be an idea to look at some of the quality brands as second hand items.

I am trying to get my self two sets of gear for different situations. At the mo i have a 1tonne cordura jacket (around $140 worth i think) that i wear on short rides, and commuting to work and on not so nice weather. And i have a qmoto edge leather jacket for when its a nice day and i feel like a spirited ride, or weekend riding etc. I find the leather better on nice days, doesnt feel so clammy, nice while riding the bike. I wear the cordura if its cold, drizzly or places where i might walk around (i dint feel bad about stuffing it into a backpack while walking) If its rainy as ill wear pvc waterproof rain suit over the top. I have draggin cargos for pants, but am planning to get leathr pants to zip to the edge jacket for track days/ spirited riding.
Both 1Tonne and qmoto were great to deal with
I also have two helmets, one cheap one for going to work if its a dusty or messy site, and nicer one for any other time (hjc fg-15), altho i hate putting on the cheap helmet these days, it feels yuck
Give me fuel, give me fire, give me that which i desire
Hold Hold Hold, next week the new 2012 stock arrives, I will have it on the site soon, we have a "frecking beauty" of a new Jacket coming in that is just the best thing since Boobies where invented, its called the STRIKER, why.......not sure really but it is very striking, designed by myself personally of course !!
Spec is huge (as usual)
All QRACE spec, i.e you can legally race in it as you can in all Qrace spec gear, full circumference Zip AND the short one
Triple Stitched !
KNOX Armour
Titanium External Amour
Embossed sleeves
YKK zips
1.4 mm thick Mutha fucking leather (a new spec just released)
Long Back (up to 200mm cover on the Back overlap with Qmoto Pants)
(Optional extra is a Bullet proof vest if you tend to annoy other motorists.
and an inbuilt radar deflector)
So due in next week, so if youre looking at the Vengenace and others on the Qmoto site stand by a week or so (or so means I got to do the photos etc with hot chicks showing off half their boobies) etc
oh...p.s
The only way to make leather waterproof is by using a membrane on the inside under the leather, the leather still gets wet and will get cold, and when its hot it will be like wearing a plastic bag, stinky sweaty Biker aint attractive
tis a dum idea, get a oversuit.
Ive run out of fucks to give

that does look rather flash quasi. if only my jacket were a few years older i might be tempted to replace it.
for what its worth i have been wearing my qmoto leathers all winter on commute, i have had a bit of luck with windows between showers but they have held out moderate rain on a couple of occasions better than my cordura gear ever did. im guessing a solid soaking would see me wet due to the venting, but the other good thing is the leather seems to shed water whereas my cordura would just soak it up. you are left with a soaking jacket /trou that weighs 3x what it did before you left home, and its still wet at home time. with the leather stuff a bit of a hang up on a dry spot at work and its been good to go.
Education not Legislation
just had a talk to the people at qmoto.
