Spanish CEV Superbikes - Opportunities for Kiwis available

I have been talking with a team that runs in the British and Spanish Championships. They are not a top team I believe but they dont have the top riders either, they are more of a development team but the specs of the class are very tight, essentially superstock and they have a pirelli control tyre so I believe if the right rider were on the bike theres no reason the bike couldnt run up front.

I wouldnt have any expectations on myself but it would be a huge experience and it would be great from my riding in NZ or Australia + who wouldnt want to race the best tracks in the world!!! Its a 7 round championship and it runs throughout our winter so it wouldnt effect my local racing.

In the back of my mind I also would see this as a bit of research and development and making good contacts with this team so it might create a path for some young Kiwi MotoGp hopefulls to start there career.

How many championships do you know where Moto GP riders rock up and race? Marc Marques and the likes turn up for the odd round or 2 and ex Moto GP and WSB riders litter the classes.

Anyway its a huge expense, I would need to raise $80k to do it and that would include all the travel bla bla bla. Its a stupid amount of money but I almost think its achievable. Its payable over the next 12 months so I dont need the money up front. I just dont know if I should bite the bullet or not.

There is room for a second 1000cc rider and there is a spot for a Moto 2 rider

That is awesome! You know if you didnt make the effort, you would always wonder, what if? You can always race Superbikes here in NZ when you are 40, plenty of others are.

Chop, many racers have added to the mortgage and given it a fair go.
Its a decision you should talk to the Mrs about, If it works, there is the chance you could make your living riding a race bike. If it doesn't it will take you a decade to pay for the opportunity.

Didn't answer your question I'm afraid prob just thrown another spanner into the equation.
