    Announce Yo! (iYRe)

    Hi,

The names Geoff. I've got a VL 800 with baffleless (Stock) pipes, and a few other chrome bits. Previously I have owned a DR400, CB200 (when I was 15!), CB550 (police special), CB900, GSX750, GSX1100, GS1000, and a few other random things.
I stopped riding about 15 years ago, because I was too fat (about 210kg!).
Since then I have lost (through surgery) 100 kg, and rediscovered the joys of leather, and 2 wheels.
I am also partial to a bit of pedal powered 2 wheeling too, and alternate my transport to work. You will quite often see me riding in the bus lane on dominion rd (which is bending, under its own weight, shining like a strip cut from a sheet metal plate, because its just been raining... (see what I did with that?)). Either on the VL or the bicycle.

I'm 45, got a 4 yr old daughter (who loves being dropped off to preschool on either bike), and a little boy due in December 2011.

Welcome to Kiwibiker, and well done on the weightloss and getting back to something you obviously love. You will have to excuse all the wannabee comedians on here hahaha.

My wife said she loved me because i was funny.. I've spend the last 15 years trying to prove her wrong... My humour is so dry, every time I tell a joke the tide goes out in the manukau..

    :P

    Thanks guys :P

Goodonyermate! Losing weight is the hardest thing I've ever tried to do in my life! I used to have this saying, "If it's going to go to waste it may as well go to mine..."

In the end I went on a crash diet, literally! I crashed my van and broke my back, so two weeks on a drip in hospital did the trick!

Since then I've put a few kilo's back on, so of course I broke my back again, tripping over a trailer. Unfortunately this time it didn't work and I'm having to do it the hard way, by cutting down on food intake and getting more exercise.
You don't get to be an old dog without learning a few tricks.
Shorai Powersports batteries are very trick!

Fancy doing all that damage and none of it on a bike.

    edbear,

Yeah its hard work bro. That's why i cycle as well as ride my bike (man this is confusing.. for future reference, biking is motor powered and cycling is pedal powered).

This way I get the thrill of 2 wheels, lane splitting, speed, etc, and get fit too.. then I can relax on the cruiser the next day.. and feel like I earned it
Keep it up anyway.. and stop breaking stuff :P

We're planning on getting a couple of pushbikes this Summer as there are are some good cycle ways and places to ride up our way. I won't ride on the main roads though, too dangerous and I might break something...
