I had shingles on my face a few years ago, I got hold of some "St John's Wort".
Rub it on the skin neat, and actually drink the stuff, too. Seemed to help. The itching I got when the rash was healing felt like spiders under my skin... FUGGIN ITCHY.
Which mod moved this thread???!! I had it in racing so that it was likely to get the attention of those that race that have had this sort of injury. Many of the racers on her don't even read the other crap on the forums on here....

I'd definitely tell the doctor that it was OK to massage daily and is now very painful to even touch. Some deep haematomas can abscess and you definitely don't want a deep abscess in your glute or base of your spine. I'd suspect the GP would either try an FNA again (fine needle aspirate - try to suck some stuff out) or just put you on to a course of Augmentin just to be safe. Things shouldn't get worse. Get it seen it. Good luck with it!
Have you considered a booty transplant.

A couple of things you could try Hels. Buy some Hirudoid cream, it really helps with breaking down haematomas. I have been using it on my leg and am getting some improvement. Rub it in to cause pain, deep massage stuff.
The other thing is acupuncture. I have not had it for haematoma but I did have it for a massive chill blain on my finger. One application of the needle and you could literally watch this thing disappearing.
Good luck with it, there is no joy in a massive haematoma, I can not imagine what it must be like having one on your arse, a full calf one is bad enough.
x2 for the acupuncture idea.
Also have you considered alternative treatment? Homeopathic remedies can often bring relief that mainstream medicine scoffs at - not sure if you have a chemist locally that has someone who knows their shit, and acc wont cover it but a good word of mouth Homeopath could make a specific remedy for you.......
WESTIE CHICKS ROCK
It's not mainstream medicine that scoffs at Homeopathy, it's science. There's some stuff like eating extracts from the bark of the white willow tree which actually works. The bark basically contains aspirin which is a pretty awesome all around drug.
The stuff like "this vial of water has touched other water that has been in contact with a vat of water that has had a kg of leaves crushed in it and thus the energy from the leaves has been imparted into the water" doesn't fly.
ACC won't cover homeopathy for a reason. ACC will cover acupuncture because it can actually work. I guess the other thing in favour of Homeopathy is the 'Placebo Effect' which seems to be better than any actual medicine in many cases.
Sorry to rant. I just got all riled up with alternative medicine when my friend died at 23 from cancer. She paid hundreds of dollars to sit in a room for hours holding a specific coloured piece of string (colour therapy) to cure her cancer. The "therapist" told her she was cancer-free. She died shortly after. I hate that people make shitloads of money from this stuff
Actually I have had Homeopathic treatments before and they worked..... I will try anything. Definitely agree that acupuncture works and will be looking at booking some treatments soon, no matter what cost to me. Off to see my GP today to ensure that I 'exhaust' all available mainstream medical treatments as well.

make sure that you have big labels on your medicine.
I know a guy who once mixed up his piles paste and his tooth paste and he ended up with sore gums and a ring of confidence!
