BMW excluded from BEARS in the Tri Series!

haha I love a bit of controversy.

Just got a call from the organiser of the Suzuki Tri Series. He had the unfortunate job of informing all BMW S1000RR riders from the BEARS class.....

To be honest im not that concerned but I do like to stir the pot

I asked what the actual ruling is..... Apparently there are no RSV4s either but Ducati 1198rs and MV Agustas are ok but it depends who is riding them....????

Interesting ruling, if I were a club rider that just wanted to race my S1000RR in the BEARS class I think id feel pretty hard done by.

It sorta suits me cause im gonna ride the HP2 anyway so I want have to race the S1000RRs

I can't think of anything sensible (or even smart arse) to say about that ???

Yeah I dont see how they could take the BMW out without taking out the RSV4, MV and 1098R. Bit retarded I thinks.

....Well we wouldn't want any "real" competion for those nice shiny Ducati's now would we.

......Im amazed they didn't impose a cc limit on the rest of the feild as well

    British,European,American,Racing
....except BMW's!.....and aprillias.....Oh and good riders!...infact...any threat at ALL to Ducati's will be BANNED!....if not...we risk having an actual fair RACE! (god forbid!)

Haha, typical bears. If your bike meets the rules but it is too fast you are banned too (unless it is made in NZ by a Kiwi).

Maybe a less discriminative ruling would to be to put a pre 2008 ruling on the BEARS class. This would exclude the new generation bikes like the S1000RR, RSV4 and the new 195hp Ducati soon to be released

I'm pretty sure I've seen a 996cc Ducati MotoGP that someone owns. Wonder what they would say if you showed up with that!

    Interesting.

It'll probably be better for you and your sponsors having you on the HP2 anyway.... People love seeing "lesser" machinery being peddled hard. I know i'd rather watch you race on that than the superbike

There's a fair chance the 'person' that made that rule has a son/boyfriend that is racing a Ducati. What a crock of shit.

The word was that it was Suzukis decision. Being that they are not even in the class I guess they just would like closer racing across the board or it could be cause I only did the BEARS practice and Qualifying sessions last year for a bit of extra practice haha

I'd doubt if the decision came from the BEARS club per se...but if you've heard it was influenced by Suzuki then the old saw "he who pays the piper calls the tune "
    seems applicable...
