Adaptiv Technologies - good bastards!
Adaptiv Technologies are the makers of the TPX radar detectors. They are based in the USofA.
I've had a TPX for a while now. In that time, I have had several minor issues with the device.
1. The first issue was with the wireless audio device - it chewed through batteries at a rate of one every few days. I questioned this performance and was promptly issued with a replacement, no charge.
2. After several months of use, the base plate came adrift from the rest of the housing. Contacted them again and was advised to glue it back with a plastic epoxy glue. Had two goes at that - the first, using standard araldite, failed after about two months. Tried again with a specific plastic glue (from Holdfast IIRC) which is still holding eight months down the track.
3. After losing the base plate, I had a problem with the power connection. It kept losing power for a split second and then reconnecting resulting in a reboot of the device. Again, contacted AT and they suggested looping a rubber band around it to hold the connector in more firmly. Worked a treat.
At no time did the device fail to work, despite the trials and tribulations listed above. It always did the job.
In the last email I received from AT (Feb '11) they offered to upgrade my TPX to the latest version "late in 2011" at no charge, to compensate for the various problems I have had with the original model.
Well, the new version has just been released and AT have stood by their word and are sending me the latest version. Should be here within the week.
To my way of thinking, this is a pretty good piece of customer service - an offer I had not expected but which was extremely well received. I doubt that many manufacturers would have been so generous. Top example of backing up their product.
So a big thumbs up for Adaptiv Technologies from me. Thanks guys.

I'll report on the new version when it arrives.
