    Phillip Island report and pics

Had a great day on Sunday despite the weather. Caught the bus from Melb at 6.30am. Had a comfortable and pleasant trip out. The ticket I had allowed me to wander the pitts and see many of the celebrities in the flesh ... Doohan, Gardner, Simoncelli, accidently bumped into Edwards, Rossi etc.
Then Mark Barnett, the friend I alluded to last week who gave me the tickets and is clearly alot more important in Pedrosa's and the HRC team than he lets on ( he's one of only 3 who are allowed to work and look at the gearboxes) invited me into the Repsol Honda garage. Took some pics, drooled over the machinery, chatted with the mechanics, looked over Casey's and Dovi's bikes etc. Pretty cool eh ?
It was quite a privilage and very very interesting.
Couple of pics. Me with Dani's bike, Casey's people ( Adrianna hugging someone) and Dovi's bikes.
The trip back to Melb was a bit longer but very relaxing and managed to catch the second half of the AB's game ......awesome day !!!

It was definitely a cool weekend except for some crap weather on Sunday.

Got to meet Spies, Lorenzo, Colin and Cal when they came up to our tent for an autograph session.

That was when Lorenzo still had all of his fingers
RIP Phil (Pinky) SHINE ON YOU CRAZY DIAMOND.

Thanks Ed, and yes, very very cool! Blardy hell, from the looks of those sparkly warkly brake calipers (and everything else) I reckon they must use more Mr Sheen (on the bench) than petrol on a weekend. Hmmmmm, what I wouldn't give polish up the luvverly Adriana..........

Haha ... yeah, one of the mechanics made a cheeky remark but it was all good humour.
The pic I took of the stack of $20K/set of c/f discs, squillion $ forks and calipers and the majestic Ti exhaust systems etc never came out very well but jeez, their's some serious money in those garages.
Having seen the bikes up close like I did and chatting to the guys, there really isn't anything super revoltionary about them .... just that everything is extremely precise, perfect and simply the best that is available.
