Anybody think that a CRT bike can get to within 1.0s of the pole position by the end of the season?
Seriously dude...and this is not a dig at you personally...but really? This is GP racing. Those CRT "fuck me in the ass" bikes don't belong there.

    Not taken personally.

And why not? I mean granted, from what I understand of the rules (may be a little limited but I'm working on that) the CRT initiative is a little wonky. But I imagine that they had to make it that way for at least the first year to get people interested in actually trying. (Like having a position for the top CRT in parc fermme, bullshit to be honest, but it gives them some recognition.) So with what they have this year, it at least made it possible for a lot of non-factory teams to fabricate/part together their own "prototype" bike. I would imagine that getting them out on the grid in the first place is hardest, but once they are there its a little easier to keep them there.

Yes, this is GP racing, and yes, this has to be the fuckin' best of the best on the wildest craziest shit, but wouldn't it be a little embarrassing if there were only 12 bikes running around the track? With a distinct possibility of one manufacture dropping out and then there only being 8. At least with the CRT's out there it looks like the track is full.

    Glad.

Yeah it's the rules that are choking the class. Sometimes...less is more. Way more.

So MotoGP should be a factory only class? No one else should have a chance to build a bike and enter it against the 'big boys'?

Or is it just the CRT rules (as they are) that are wrong?

And I'm not trying to be argumentative or anything, I just haven't been watching GP racing for donkey's ages like some of the contributors on KB.

CRT teams do not have the money the factories have, so cannot afford the electronics etc

Look how slow they are to the MGP bikes, up to 30MPH slower

I am saying they do not belong, but what is the alternative to top the grids up for the TV people

Anyone should be able to enter the top class with a bike they've built. But the rules are making it harder and harder. In fact it'd be impossible now.

When it was 500cc two strokes...heaven forbid...NZ had a bike there!

an idea how much money honda have , hrc , ( to which i prostrate my self a lot to ) is but a small part of the budget..and i mean small

at hrc , the race dept is no bigger than a couple of town houses , plus the place i work ...large industrail build, for all paper work and design.

money i think isnt a prob , as its swallowed into the org.honda

now both yamaha and honda use outside companies , yamaha have a great casting ally , honda use in house and not so much outside influence (and thats the joke around here about honda pride!!)

Suan is right about th money at ducati, as i said about the tuning of the frames, maybe people have seen the writing on the wall, shame really
