A CRT I could maybe - MAYBE - fathom, but the Monster Yamaha has to be the best bike out there in the premier class after the factory efforts from Honda and Yamaha.

I mean, he's not even as successful as Abraham was when he made the (premature) jump to the GP, and look how well that's gone. I mean no disrespect to Smith, as he obviously has heart, and more talent than many in his current field, but it seems all too obvious that he will be taking up space over the next couple of years.

With talent like Luthi, Iannone, Espargaro, and a host of others who haven't signed a GP deal yet, it's nothing short of wasteful. Even the passport argument doesn't work. Two British riders? What the hell?
I really dunno, what's tougher WSB or Moto2? Crutchlow only finished 5th in WSB but has shone this year in MotoGP. I reckon Moto2 could well be tougher than WSB, it's just a dogfight. Smith hasn't lit the world on fire, but being on the Tech 3 bike, maybe Poncharal knows it's a piece of poo and Smith is actually doing pretty well? We'll find out next year I guess.

Yamaha best satellite bike? Nah, I reckon the Yamaha and Honda are pretty even. Bradl as a rookie is outperforming a disappointing Bautista who I'm starting to think just hasn't quite got it. If Dovi and Crutchlow swapped with Bradl and Bautista the results would be pretty much identical so the difference is the riders not the bikes.

edit: Mental Trousers said it best and thanks to work intruding on my KB time was waaaaay faster on the typing!

What are you smoking mate? He finished 5th in WSB, won two or three (was it) races. He's won how many, and got how many podiums in GP's?

You call that 'shining'? Ben Spies won a race in his first season on the sat Yamaha.

    What a fucking race!

Moto GP is boring. Not. Two of THE best racers of modern times going hard out lap after lap.

Agreed and agreed. Huge pity Stoner's not there to make it a three way battle for tha championship at the end though. How long is it since we've seen that?

Never mind. 2 going for it hammer and tongs will suffice. Secretly...I'd actually love to see the surly midget take it.

Not so secretly,I reckon Lorenzo had one eye on the championship...and if tonight was win or bin, lorenzo would have punted him out of the way on the last corner???

Do you think Pedrosa would do same?

Agreed....I didn't explain myself too well. I was completely suprised that Crutchlow got the MotoGP ride from WSB, wasn't that impressed, much the same last year. But, I've gotta admit (difficult 'cos I really don't like him at all) he's shown himself worthy this year, with him and Dovi shoulders above Bautista, Bradl and the rest. Tonight was a pretty good demo of that.

Spies? Poor bastard, really hopes he scores that honda ride.

I agree with you. Last time I saw the midget punt someone off it was his own team mate.

Just to be nit-picky, Ben had a couple of podiums his first year at Tech 3, but he was on a Factory ride when he got his win at Assen. Still, he did do pretty good his rookie year on the sat Yamaha.

And after saying that, I would have to say that this year has made being a fan of Ben very depressing.
Disclaimer: I don't actually know what I'm talking about and everything I say should be taken as words of wisdom from a armchair general/mechanic/engineer/racer.

That's not nit-picky, that's my bad! Nothing nit-picky 'bout facts mate!

Gotta feel for Spies for sure. I'd like to see him stay in Moto GP, I think he's good enough to be there. Maybe he's lost a bit of self belief.

Good to see you're feeling better, you know what a fact is, right? lol.
Figured you were suffering a bit of overflow. Rachel away huh ??

Apart from the little bit of to and fro at the end of the GP , I think I preferred the Moto2 race.

Rachel got to watch the GP from the pits. I'm very jealous! I'll let her share the pics when she's home. I actually really enjoyed the race. Both of them showing Stoner how to win a championship. If you can't win it...don't bin it!
