Heyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy! The Fonz’s motorcycle goes up for auction

The motorcycle used by ‘The Fonz’ in classic American TV show ‘Happy Days’ is going under the auctioneer’s hammer.

The bike – a Triumph Trophy TR5 - is expected to fetch £60,000 when it is auctioned in Los Angeles on 12th November. It was found in a motorcycle shop where it had been for the last 15 years, having been bought by an enthusiast who had no idea about it’s history.

The bike was once owned by Bud Ekins, who performed the famous leap in ‘The Great Escape’, adding to it’s appeal. Despite it being one of the iconic images associated with The Fonz, actor Henry Winkler was unable to ride it! Winkler admitted to being “Scared to death” of motorcycles, adding “'I don't know how to ride a motorcycle. I am scared to death of motorcycles. If there is a wall I will hit it.”

The bike is not in a rideable condition at present.

Not as famous as the Fonz leaping the shark in the pool.

LOL - I remembner the shark episode. Also the one where he conquered the 'hill climb'.

Didn't he do a jump in Arnold's car park also ? He crashed that time didn't he ? (Still pulled all the chicks though LOL)

No wonder it isn't in rideable condition.

Forget about the fact the bike was in some mundane TV programe.

The real nostalgia is linked to Bud.
That man was cooler than Fonz, Hollywood actors and even me

Funny how they went with the Trumpy when Happy Days was set right in the heart of Harley territory. The HD factory must have been a bit miffed.

How embarrassing to think that I might have ever considered that was cool. The fonz is/was not cool and neither is/was his fag bike
