    GN250 lights flickering and blowing

I noticed the other day that the headlight on my gn was flickering when I got up to about 5k rpm, also the low beam filament on the brake light bulb has blown twice in the last couple of months. I ran through the flow chart in the sticky and got the right voltages for the first 2 checks, I removed the headlight bulb and examined all the connections in the wiring tucked into the headlight, all seems fine there, the battery terminals are tight. I recently had the bike serviced at Avon city Suzuki.

Vibration? check the headlight mounts are all good and tight, and they often have a rubber grommet/damper/mount between headlight assembly and frame for vibration reasons...

I tried to recreate the problem by banging and shaking the headlight unit but the flickering didn't happen. I have replaced the headlight bulb which seems to have fixed the issue.

If replacing the bulb fixed it, it was vibration inside the bulb or in the contacts between bulb and bulb holder. If you want an interesting experiment, put the original bulb back in - betcha it doesn't do it anymore :-)

    Glad it's fixed
