Urgent urgent matter of living fast and loose

I am after a cheap and nasty dirt bike. I've just been conned into heading to the burt munro challenge and if I'm going, I'm competing in something.

A cheap old dirt scooter that still has enough life for a day or two of caning, beach racing, hill climb duty and maybe even the speedway event.

Bigger capacity would be better, though I wouldn't thumb my nose at an xr200 or similar.

I am talking $500 or less as this being a last minute plan, I don't really have a budget, so really I'll consider anything.

So please please, farm hacks, dusty old bikes that have been holding the wall up in the back of your garage for the past 15 years, I'll even take an old jap sport bike if I can fit knobblies to it.

I've got an old '96 Husky TE610 that I'm struggling to get out on, new rear wheel bearings, new front pads, good tyres. 'Lil outside your budget though, I'd let it go for $1500.
