    Question KB access via mobile?

I want to get an idea of how many members use mobiles to access KB, so I can see if anything needs to be done to improve mobile access.

The current options to access KB via mobile are:

Full Site. No modification of the site layout.
Mobile Style. A much simpler style which uses less data usage and is designed for small screens, but leaves out many features.
Tapatalk. An app designed to provide a simpler interface to different forums software, but is not free.

Many sites (including vBulletin) have developed their own apps to enable users to access their sites instead of using a mobile browser. So this may be an option in the future.

I tried the mobile style and didn't like it ... so choose to stick with full site.

    Thumbs up Tapatalk is Brilliant!

I was initially using the full site on my smart phone and it was a real bastard to use properly. Tapatalk is superb - very very easy with most of the functionality of the normal site and a few other features like showing you how active the threads are that you are participating in...

I thoroughly recommend giving tapatalk a go if you have a smart phone.
There are two kinds of adventurers: those who go truly hoping to find adventure and those who go secretly hoping they won't. We should come home from our adventures having faced their perils and uncertainties, endured their discomfort and beaten the odds, with a sly acknowledgment and revitalised solidarity of character.

Agreed. Mobile style on most sites looks arse. Much prefer the full site.

I use Tapatalk myself, I find it faster/easier to use on a cellphone than full/mobile site.

I occasionally view kiwibiker via my iphone but find the small screen a pita to look at for long (not to mention the enlarging etc. to read details).
So my response is pretty much I stick to using the computer for KB and can't really offer any suggestions as to how to improve it for mobile phones. When I do use the phone to access it I much prefer the full site version.

Access to full site via iPhone is a pain in the $&#* as screen is too small, the full site is great to use on the iPad though and hardly ever use PC these days.

Tapatalk is good, use it on my iPod Touch. I do find that it is prone to crashing though, especially when the treads are large or contain a lot of attachments.

I use the iPad occasionally but it isn't really successful. I can't see any forums above "sportsbikes".

But that's not the biggest piss-off I currently have with the iPad.
