    Race/track bike swap for TL1000R

I just thought I'd throw it out there and see if someone has got a streetable 600/F2 or BEAR's (maybe even a Post Classic) race/track bike they'd be interested in swapping for a TL1000R. The TLR has Ohlins shock, full (yoshi?) zorst with carbon cans, VTR SP1/2 tail, K and N filter, air box mods etc. I also have an R1 triple clamp, an early set of marchesini magnesium wheels and Brembo radial brake and clutch masters I was going to set up on yet to be sourced R1 forks which could be included. It's not mint, but it's a good fun honest bike that goes pretty hard, handles well and will be awesome with a lil' more work.

Cash up is also a possibility for the right bike.

I love my gixxer thou' race bike, it's more fun than a ferret down ya trousers and Chris Osborne is working his magic to freshen it up as I write this so no way I wanna get rid of it But I'm just getting more and more depressed at how little track time I can get on it (crap work roster etc). So I'm thinking I might be able to swap the TLR for something that can cover recreational road duty and occasionally shake a leg on track in a different race class to F1/Superbike, doubling what little track time I can get.

Yeah, it's a long shot but no harm in putting it out there.

Sweet as Spud, I'll happily swap the TLR for my GSX550 Post Classic.

A carton of beer when you bring the TL over will do as thanks.

I know it's F1, but my R1 is still available - it'll be eligible for post classics soon ... make me an offer

PS: All that gear you dropped off is finally being collected this week

I'd take you up on that but I just don't have the testicular fortitude that you do mate, it's just too much bike for me and you blardy know it.

Hiya Tony, I've actually spent an unhealthy amount of time thinking about your awesome R1, especially with Vic Club doing their Post-90 carb'd thing next year. Problem is it's only Vic Club that are looking at racing 'em and their season has just finished......and no word yet on how they're setting up the program so I might be be no better off track time wise.

But for someone else looking at the Post-90 class for next year I can't think of a better way than on your bike, with all the track gear included, just brilliant road/race set up. You should do it mate!

Not a bad price mate. But it doesn't sound like swaps are gonna suit you and the idea of another bike just isn't gonna float with my better half....or the space I have available. And time is one thing I have even less of than money so I was hoping to find something already reasonably spec'd and set up for race duty that I can ride recreationally most of the time and just throw some race fairings at for the occasional track thrash when the opportunity crops up.

In the past that's exactly what I've done with an old 916 and R1. Both were ex race bikes that I just threw race fairings on and did track days (916) and later started racing on (R1).
