We're in, numbers are looking really low. If you are local and want to have a crack and I don't hate you on sight rock up with some gear and you might get a few laps on one of our bikes.

Well that was interesting. In half a day Saturday I burnt about as much fuel as a weekend at Mt Welly, cool track that took a bit of time to get my head around, some of the corners that look like they should be fast are slow and some others that can be taken way faster that I thought at first.
This morning in the wet I couldn't believe how grippy it is, shouldn't be much difference in lap times wet and dry. Shame it rained to be honest, I would have liked to run in the opposite direction for a bit of a laugh but as it was I was starting to get a bit keen for the conditions when we called it quits.

Thanks again for the guys that organised this, if you get racing up and running down there we'll definitely be in for a trip down a couple of times a year.

Thank you for organising it. It was a shame (???) the weather deterred others from coming along, but it was great having so much track time. I felt like I was getting the hang of some of the corners on my last session out. I hadn't expected much, as I'm not great with getting anything out of practice and don't enjoy it because of that. When we had the laptimers on yesterday (they don't like the wet, so couldn't use them today), what I found interesting was a couple of laps per session would be bang on the same time. It'd just be two back-to-back, so my riding, at times, would be consistent.

It's good to see that some of the locals are keen and it'll be great to have another area we can hopefully head to in the quiet Auckland patches.

Thanks again Farmaken for a great time We'll be back

    And we're back.....

I asked Henk to invite a few bods along to the Kart Club meet at Edgecumbe today so we could demonstrate how well behaved and sensible Bucket racers can be - needless to say it was a very small group

Anyhoo, the seven of us had a great day and were made very welcome by the locals. Upshot of all this is a new track for a North Island round and we have been invited back for more fun !!

Stay tuned for more details to follow.....

They will be glad to hear that, if they didn't know before they left. would have been good to have it in this year past's series, but next year

thanks for organising it, I enjoyed the peace and quiet at home alone lol

    ^^ Hahaha

Thanks Ken! What a brilliant day, Ken and I had some big battles with it being 2 wins each I think?
With the small group it was cool not having timing or a scheduled grid position so the races were always really exciting. There was also quite a bunch of people watching and enjoying.

The track is awesomely fun. Very fast for most of it and a really grippy surface having been recently resurfaced. No one performed an up-close inspection of the tarmac though so the jury cannot make any further comment.

    Keen to get back there!

Awesome weekend away, thanks again for Ken for jacking this up.
Neat track, I almost had my head around 90% of it by the time we stopped racing for the day, the set of right handers that turns into a triple apex job with varying cambers had me in fifth by the last race! bumpy and scary.
The reverse direction test run at the end of the day was interesting, Tim, Craig and Kamil all loved, it just scared the bejesus out of me.
Really nice new surface that got changed to make it less grippy, still as grippy as hell.
Definitely going to try and slide this one into the NI series next year if we can. The pools at Awakeri are good for a soak as well.
