    Video from the GP

Little bit of footage from the teams race. South Island team targeting the number one Wellington rider. Not really, just a little slippery as you will see.
cocked up the start rather well. A rather weak flag wave from the starter.

I am exporting some rough bits from the GP race now. Should be ready in about an hour. I will do a proper edit later but this should give people an idea of the conditions and pace of the day.

Ok so here is some footage. After looking a the first couple of laps I think I just needed to man up and I could have been challenging for P3. Good start though.

Nice footage. The track is much different from the last time I rode on it especially from the hairpin right through to to the end of the bottom straight.

Can't see anything unusual in the first video. Cam Jones is a regular crasher, hehehe.
So is Taupo alot more slippery in the wet than say Ruapuna and Levels?

Wouldnt know about those tracks, though was able to complete the GP in the wet on a front slick and rear wet, and worked the wet a bit in the teams race in the dry. The new track is slippery where the patchs are. More grip than you'd ever have at a mx.

Yeah it was going well and had heaps of front end grip. That wasn't the moment I mentioned after the race. I will find it later same place but in the dry. You fill the lens all of a sudden. It's great having a camera on board but also bad when you see all the stupid stuff you do. There are bits where I just think what the hell was I thinking. But after the race you don't remember them.

yeah good & a reminder of how wet the track was.

Just viewed the mid race Battle of the buckets clip (look to right hand side of Rich's you tube post & see his others) that looked like great footage. Yes afast bike, but you still need to get it around the corners at a higher speed.

    Muchos apologies for that.
First time ever using the flag/start system (true) - it was wet and blowing hard - flag was wrapped around the pole - and I didn't think to check/clear it until it was already 'out'.
At least the racing was top notch...
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

It was on for the first race. Will get to it in the next few days. Layed up in bed with a back issue. Can't walk. Planning on being a lot fitter for the next GP.

yeah these motorboike things are dangerous for us oldies. I had to have Physio after the BOB for a muscle that was going troppo for days after back protector was digging into it & since GP my ankle is aching a little. Hasn't done that for about 4 years & it happened when I cartwheeled over Speedpro at the Ohakune GP about 10 yrs ago.

Get better soon Rich, google Yoga stretches, they actually help, but don't be foolish enough to go to a class, they'll probably touch you with a hippy stick - that's bound to slow you down & you'll be pondering if your bike is running on vegan oil.
