I've been finding myself adopting a MX style of riding whereby you lean out of the corner, sit on the high edge of the seat and move the bike under you. It seems like it shouldn't work, but I feel quite comfortable doing it on the road.

Good to hear you got the XT, but I ride both MX & road and on the road I just tend to sit on the seat and steer with the 'bars.................still I've only been riding for 20 years

XTC and I often go for mid week rides to find gravel roads so will be sure to PM you next time were off on another adventure

I think you'll find that most instances of engine misfires are actually piston slap caused by a worn bore due to excessive mileage.
Certainly the lack of compression would mean that there was little chance of premature ignition.

nah, it was more about the poor timing and missing the power stroke. Definitely not enough punch low down.
