    Suspension setup in Auckland?

Now that Shaun Harris is over the ditch... Any recommendations for a suspension setup guru?

'93 zxr750 with a 05(maybe 03?) zx12 adjustable rear shock. Just looking to sort the suspension for road use for my weight and having a bit of trouble figuring it out on my own.

Robert Taylor from CKT posted a very thorough and helpful guide to the measurements you need to make and how to make then, what then mean, and how to adjust to get things 'in the range'. Main thing is your sags which set where the bike sits (preload). Then you have rebound and compression which deal with how it handles the bumps - that takes a keener eye, a bit of experience and a good feel for what is 'right'.

The Stranger may be able to help you out if he's not too busy, otherwise maybe ask in the racing forum as there are a few around in Auckland who should at least know the basics.

It's better to not pass and know that you could have than to pass and find out that you can't. Wait for the straight.

Go see Brent Martin at Spectrum Motorcycles, he's very good and works closely with Robert at CKT, plus he's a Kawasaki dealer so no worries on any special tools or info required.

Before you judge a man, walk a mile in his shoes. After that, who cares? ...He's a mile away and you've got his shoes

Cheers all, have been in touch with Robert Taylor and think I may head along to Spectrum to see what they think
