Announce Burt Munro Challenge - Biker reviver stop in Christchurch - Wed 23 Nov

The title says it all really.

The Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM) Canterbury group are running a Biker Reviver Stop on Wednesday 23rd Nov for those travelleing down from the north island or north of CHCH on the south island. Between about 8.30am and 5pm

We are providing a free rest Stop that will include the following:

    Free Bottles of Water
Free hot drinks ( coffee etc)
    Free Sausage sizzle
Place to rest up and use the toilets
4c/litre off discount voucher at petrol station round the corner
Competition to win some advanced riding books
Free goodie bag from ECAN and ACC.
Free bike check ( if you want it - tyres, chain, etc)

Although we (IAM) are running this with volunteers from many other organisations it is ACC and ECAN that have funded this reviver stop.

We want to make sure those riding down get an opportunity to be rested and refreshed before continuing on their journey down south.

    Location:

Hampton Honda car park, Carmen Road, Hornby, Christchurch

This is just over the railway line and before you turn right on SH1 to go south by Hornby Junction Mall.

It would be great to get some indication of peoples who may stop by and also if anyone wants to pass on this onfo to their local bike shop or group it would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry in advance if you are travelling on another day, we just haven't got the man power to do more at the moment.

If you are going to Burt Monroe straight after work, you will probably need a reviver stop, otherwise I would say not, we want the resources to go to those who need the break and refreshment. Having said that swing by and if we have some stuff left over you might get something.

Anyone who wants to lend a helping hand that day is welcome, just PM me to let me know

Looking forward to seeing those travelling down!

How about a complimentary beer? Restrict it to one or two per rider to keep it safe
