Where can I find info about the NZ Southern Cross ride? The one where you ride to each of 4 main sticky out bits of NZ

thanks guys, sadly this run wont fit with my plan.
I need a longish run in 2014. Planning to get cousins and/or their kids together and do the ride to celebrate my 50th. Any suggestions? KoroJ suggested the southisland tt2000 (?) What else is there that year?

Rusty nuts do a nationwide tour every year. Each 2nd year its the Southern Cross, but inthe inter years it will be something like an icon tour or similar. I'm sure that in March/April 2014 they will have a suitable tour. Alternatively there is always the TT2000.

What time of year. You have the Grand Challenge in October, but it's not exactly the social ride, just social before and after... then again, none of the long rides are really social as such... lots of riding, then talking shit afterwards.

Jantar also has his very own Chatto Creek 1000 miler each year? is it.

Otherwise, make your own... lots of nice roads, and you can decide how long and where you want it.

    that's a good idea KoroJ.
Specs....hmmm...cover both islands, maybe even stewart?
Gravel options inplaces as I know a couple of my cousins like that type of road. Im ok on it, but not keen on miles and miles of off road.
Probably a summer or autumn tour.I'm a wuss about cold.

If you are looking for a good once of, I could dig out the Rusty nuts super tour route for you...10000km/10 Days, both Islands....

Or if you want to design something similar and open it up to all ..I may be a starter if the timing is right...Don't mind a wee pootle occasionally....
