Motorway Patrol last night with unlicensed rider

If you didn't catch the last few minutes of Motorway Patrol last night, heres a bit of a giggle for you.

The cops had set up a speed trap at the Wyndham St off ramp (before it was modified and had the set of lights it now has). If you'd never been off here, it used to come off the Northern motorway, go round a tight-ish right-hander, then run down a 1km long hill to a tight left then through a tunnel and on to Wyndham St. Problem is, some bright spark decided that half way down is a good place to put the 50km/h sign from the 100km/h of the motorway. Consequently, they used to sit a bloke with a radar gun at the left hander, looking up the hill and peg anyone who didnt slow to 50 at the sign.

So anyways, they tag this bloke on a TLR 1000 doing 132km/h into the LH corner. Not so special, but there were 2 kickers. The first is that the bloke wasn't licensed. "Ca-ching" goes the cops till. "Yes sir, unlicensed, bike over 250cc, 80km/h over speed limit....you're f%cked". Just as the cop finishes the sentence, a car comes whipping through the corner, sees the cops, hangs on the anchors and promptly loses it into the far wall of the tunnel they are in and starts sliding across the road towards TLR man and the cops. Brown trousers time for Mr Plod, and he misses the bike by a metre or so. Turns out he is on a restricted license, doing 120 km/h and has a passenger after 10pm.

"Ca-ching, ca-ching, ca-ching". Seems to me the cops are self-funding, so why the hell should I pay taxes?

    Self funding????

For once they had something to charge the offenders with. Thats the risk you take when on a bike bigger than what your meant to be on.
