and use the money to give kids breakfast AND lunch at school, shouldnt the parents be feeding their own kids? schools arnt restaurants are they?

Because THEY know if the money is given to the PARENTS to feed the kid's ... the kid's will still go hungry ...

Unfortunately, there are people who seem to think that the government should keep them,and they shouldnt have to do anything at all for themselves.

My grandaughter (daughter of a benefit-dependant solo-mum) goes to a low decile school but she doesn't go to school hungry, in fact she has never gone hungry in then last five years. Of course her mum doesn't smoke or do drugs and the only drink that passes her lips is what I offer her when she's over for a meal.

Hungry kids at school is not a problem, it is a symptom. Sure, feed the poor wee buggers if you must but that is only providing an ambulance at the bottom of the hill.
