    Trip to the gas station

Went to gas up the bike this morning. Just gas it up, no scenic routes home or whatever.

    Ha! Famous last words...

The gas station is 2.7km away from home. Round trip of 5.4km, yes?

No actually, not this time anyway. Turned out to be 120km...

After filling up, it seemed that a minor deviation from the direct route home was called for - maybe 20 - 30km. But then I got to Whatawhata and since it was still early, decided that a little skittter over the hill to Raglan wouldn't go amiss. Which is how I ended up covering that 120km.

So I got home with most of the newly purchased gas already burned up.

Still. I felt better for the trip. On the back of that bike is one of the few places in the world where I feel like I belong.

Better go fill up again soon.

Sounds like a trip to get a pie for lunch, bakery in Gore does nice pies and is only 1km away, but Jimmys in roxburgh are so much nicer and it's only 150kms over the moa flat hill.Hmmm Jimmys

    Love it.

I occasionally have the time to do a 120k + trip to Countdown for bread & milk. Countdown is 3k's from home. Oh the joy.

I do this, but always manage to forget the milk and bread at the end

At least I didn't forget the gas...(would've been a long push home if I had!)

Much better than through the staircase too, way too many rozzers between qeenstown and mossburn.

My sweet wife needed me out of the house for 30 mins at the weekend, and I was happy to oblige by going for a short ride. Ended up in Kaphia. Whoops.

    So yes, I understand also.

Umm Im sure there is a Fuel Station within a 50m of your house? or have you moved?
Good judgment comes from experience. Unfortunately, the experience usually comes from bad judgment.

There is. I haven't moved. But I prefer the other one. It's further away...

Haha, I guess only a biker understands your logic....oh and guilty as well. My most recent one was Kaitaia to Cape Reinga return, fuel up in Kaitaia and repeat....just 'cause I could. When you live in Wellington this just has to be done when the opportunity comes along haha.
