I didn't know Joseph but my partner ordered a helmet from him last weekend and he gave us superb knowledgeable service. Was a real pleasure to deal with.
Condolensces to his family, friends and workmates.

    RIP

ok so the star says this "NZTA" says there has been 15 accos on that corner since 07, 2 serious... canty road policing manager insepcter Al Stewart said "15 crashes at one intercetion over 4 years was of concern"... ANOTHER WORDS as usual it takes a death for action, once again to fucking late, but then again, its just a "concern".
Gasson Street is a shocker. It will take engineering to fix it's problems, not enforcement or education. Pulling people over on that street only creates more problems and since Christchurch drivers are the worst in the world ie: don't give way, follow too close and think being on the road is a right and not a privilege (which can be taken from them), education is simply a waste of time. It's a four laned road with multiple intersections including traffic lights and stop signs, visiblity is poor and traffic not only speeds, but is diabolical during peak times. I totally agree with your comments, but unfortunately we don't know there is a problem until there is one. When the rider was at Sportzone he was always a pleasure to deal with and knew his stuff. He had the honour of being known simply by his first name.

I have copied this as exactly as possible from the public notice available in today's issue of Christchurch's The Press. If any moderators or members feel I have been disrespectful or too forward, please let me know or remove the post. I just want to make sure as many people as possible have the opportunity to offer their final respects to Joe and his family.

Thanks, and of course RIP Joe.

    Tribute Request

I have been around to see Joe tonight as he has come home to be with family and friends. Kim has asked that those who have stories of Joe that they would be comfortable to share to put some words down, so she and her daughter have something to remember Joe by. If you would like to do this you can PM them to me or request my email via PM.

Sometimes you read these posts regarding a fallen rider and you are quite detatched. Other times you can feel the clear sense of loss and hurt across the whole spectrum when someone 'special' has gone. This is one of those times as he seems to have touch so many lives.

Vicki and I feel for your loss my friends and our heart goes out to those left behind.

Damn. Been away camping over the weekend and just caught up with this. Joseph was a top bloke. He sold me my CB400 and he was happy to keep getting the odd problem fixed 'under warranty' even though the official warranty ran out months earlier. Always greeted me by my first name whenever I walked into the shop. It would be the least I could do to accompany him on his last ride.

    RIP Joseph.
