Each time you go to MacDonalds or subway, you get the bread from the ovens I assemble
Most Takeaway shops use the deep fryers I assemble
The Bay Marie's you get the hot food out of at dairy's, bakeries and pubs, those too have had my hands assemble them.
SO although it is a lowly underpaid factory assembly tech, it my job
Them pies are kept warm all over the country are because of my efforts

And we just sold 3000 ovens to Russia, where Macdonalds and Subway are establishing new franchise shops
1500 units to China for Subway
Even exporting to Japan to fit their Subways outlets.......

Retired at 60, now ride bikes and fish all day, plus some overseas travel (subject to permission from 'er indoors of course). . Worked 60 hour weeks for over 30 years in management for a major manufacturing company and wanted to live long enough to actually enjoy retirement before the body packed up. Hence flagging it at 60.

Some sites are just inexcessable ! We have had to crain the pile driving rig and diggers in to a number of sites, but then the boss has a habbit of taking on the jobs everyone said were impossible to do !

...apart from a stint when I was 17 and had just finished my carpentry apprenticeship in 1975, of driving around in Nth Queensland with a mad aussie carting sloppy old wild bulls and buffalo back to a boning room in Brisbane and then a few years on rigs in the Nth Sea in the early 80's, and doing a bit of time in the cellars of British pubs,I have been self employed in my trade. Next march I have made it painfully aware to everyone that as I refuse to pay any sort of rort tax to some money hungry govt deptment to prove that I am a carpenter of some experience, I will be sliding out of the trade...its becoming too wearisome dealing with all the wankers and related bullshit in the building game anyway...not sure what happens after that...

Fair enough. I know a few people who are going that way as well. I am going to jump through the hoops and then put my rate up. I haven't put my rate up for 10 years so next year I will become one of those rich builders we are always hearing about!

So if it breaks it is my fault and if it is not broken...its still my fault because it could break one day.

In a nutshell...
If it broke....why and how do we prevent it breaking again?
If it aint broke....how could it break, what is the likely hood and consequences and what measures we can take to prevent it failing.

Don’t knock it I started working for them many years ago in my 15th birthday.
There are a number of employer that do value the training received at MacaD’s

Easier to find a job working and better to be working than being on the dole

Im Customer services, Warranty manager and general dogs body for a major bicycle wholesaler.

I am a Case Manager (NOT ACC) I facilitate the treatment and rehabilitation for people that have sustained a work injury and need assistance in recovery for larger company’s with my biggest fort polio being the meat industry

Im the Manager for a medium sized Transport Company.
Been an owner operator since i was about 21 years old and did that for 25 years untill offered the job i have now.
I work approxiamately 70 plus hours on the job and god knows how much time answering email and phones at home.

Been at it for many years and had a couple of changes along the way.
The only other job i really enjoyed was being a stay at home Dad for 4 years. Other wise, i still love the industry.
