I am waiting for Kia and Hyundai to come along and put things right.
FWIW I have a first shipment 2005 Hilux and it has had a clutch and airbag clockspring replaced under warranty. No probs with injectors so far at 130,000km. It is still going hard. Elite joinery here in Whangarei have Navarra STXs and last time I spoke to the owner his double cab was on it's 6th clutch and his partners xtra cab had had an auto box put in.

Clutches are not usually the vehicle's fault, almost invariably the driver's fault.

I'm not saying it couldn't be a fault with the vehicle, but the only way to really know is if you regularly drive any other manual vehicles, as if you do and have no issues, it then is most likely the vehicle rather than the driver.

Toyota did an upgraded clutch for the Hilux, it was a known fault

I agree and I drive one daily - 40,000km since April. Good mileage but shitty (bouncy as feck) leaf-sprung rear.

    ECU tuning?

Hi guys. Do you know anyone (preferably a company) who can tune the ECU of these trucks? Not interested in piggyback, only in genuine ECU remap. Thanks
