My old XR200r wont idle. Ive rekitted the carb, checked spark. But it wont idle. Is fine under power. Will idle at high speed on choke. Have adjusted air screw in and out. No change.
Any ideas?
is it a twin shock or mono shock?
cool, you may be able to help me then...

Checked compression (ie valve open?). Whip the airfilter out & see if idles. Does it need replacing? Eventually they just get knackered. Sparkplug cap resistance?
Don't you look at my accountant.
He's the only one I've got.
I had probs getting my XR250 to idle when I got it..

Think I sorted it. Got it to idle badly then took off the timing cover and adjusted it while it was running. Guess I stuffed it up before because it came right. Not perfect but way better.
Did check cam timing etc and it was fine.
Looking forward to its next blast now.
You did check the pilot jet was free of crap didn't ya?
Cheers
