FS: Yamaha YB100 Bucket Racer $250

Due to circumstances arising from other bikes I am forced to sell my little bucket racer.

    She's a 1978 YB100, a single cylinder 100cc air cooled 2 stroke.

As you can see there's pretty much no excess weight on it and what you see is very much what you get. Still a lot of life left in the engine and good pull.

This would be ideal for bucket racing or even gentle off road fun for younger riders.

It wheelstands like nothing else. Seriously.

$250 firm. Cheques, bank deposit, cash, it's all good. Can possibly drop off to buyer if my friends with trailers are feeling generous.

    Any questions just ask.

In its current state I can't honestly say that it would make a good learner bike. The idle screw has been taken out as far as it can to improve engine braking (as the drum brakes front and rear just aren't up to the job on the track by themselves) but of course this could be put back and it would idle away all day.
It is also incredibly loud. As a bucket should be.
And as mentioned it has a big tendency to wheelie on launch. This could be because of a really hard clutch but to be honest I don't really know.
Also you have to push start it, as the kick start has been removed.

i already have an amazing bucket racer, but I've ridden this and it would be perfect for anyone wanting to race for cheap.

seriously, $250 + $150 license sees you racing for the better part of a year.

I suppose it could be done, if you really wanted to, but for the cost and effort it would take you would be able to buy an already road legal 100cc smoker several times over.

Keep in mind that what you see is seriously what you get. No spares and no secrets with this one.

Gotta hate those dickheads. Good luck with the sale. If it was in Auckland you may have had a sale

Hey thanks man yeah it's a right pain. Good luck getting a TZR btw, gotta love those 3XVs. A while back on the commute I saw a genuine turquoise SP... mmm.

And there was a Sugo kitted SPR on Trademe a while ago with Marlboro fairings, an investment if I ever saw one... not that I wouldn't ride it if I had it!

I can confirm that this bike does extreme wheelstands.

Have you sold it yet? Would be keen, but cost of getting it to Auckland might be a bit prohibitive...
Nail your colours to the mast that all may look upon them and know who you are.

Still very much for sale. I would expect shipping to Aucks to be about $400.

So yeah depends how much you want it really.

Super duper awesome bump. Go on buy it. Then you can one day be as awesome as the nutters racing at Methven this Saturday.

You want to be like them right? I do. But I have to fund a streetstock bike.

    BUY IT.
