    Honda GL145 front rim

Figured I'd post this here as the GL gets used as a bucket racer. Mods feel free to move this if it's in the wrong place.

I lent my bike to a friend of mine for a couple of months. When I got it back I noticed the front rim had rust in it. Its only in a couple of spots but I can put a screw driver through it. Now I need a new front rim.

Does anybody here know if I can get an old XL rim from the same year and get that spoked up to the current hub?

Or maybe you know someone with a GL who wants to sell some parts?

any old Honda wheel (CB,CG etc) is likely to be the same rim for a donor. Will have the size on it & will say something like 18"x1.4"

If you can put a screwdriver through it it is super dangerous & must have been rusting from the inside for years.
Don't you look at my accountant.
He's the only one I've got.

Sweet, that will make it a bit easier to find something. Yeah I'm not riding it anywhere at the moment, it might go for a brief outing around the block a couple of times so it's warm when I work on the idle but thats not often.

Is it you that's posted the question on the auction or another gareth?
Shame the Greymouth street races have been, but maybe someone goes there semi-regularly and could pick up for you (for beer, $, whatever). Pay to ask around.

Yeah that was me. The front rim in that picture has even more rust in it than mine does.

I might still buy it and rent a car and trailer for a day. $100 for a carb would be pretty cheap and I might be able to scavenge a few other parts.
