As young Freaky Pants just said...

All we really need to understand how precious life is, and how quickly it can be taken away from us. Dont know about you lot, but every single day above ground is the best one I can make it.

    Hugs you lot!

The start/Pirongia/Te kuiti and perhaps Whakamaru on the way down so theres a possible four.
The Start/Whakamaru/Okoroire/Mercer on the way back...makes another four.

As long as it does not add to much time to the ride and is heading south...this is about the same km's as day 1 of the cape ride, with more riders.

Well Im not good at the maps thingy, but take a look at this. Its a great bit of road and will take out alot of the highway. It will add time but I cant modify your map to work it out.

I haven't ridden the road but have heard the it is very technical and should be taken by competent riders. I have no problem attempting it but not sure about any L-platers that may get a few clenching moments!

Have been meaning to ride that one actually...
Rest in peace Tony - you will be missed.

    SH22...been on it once.
114k's V 73K's...size does matter on this occassion.
I am not adverse to those who want to take that road can do so on the day.
Its just a matter of splitting into two groups.
22 can be a technical road for those who have not been riding long, and thats where the time gets eaten up.

We are going to regroup in Ngaruawahia anyway.

I just drove through there on my way back from Cemtery Circuit and road was in ok condition however there was a couple of dodgey patches with no sign posting on them. But would make for a fun diversion but a long one as although only few k's etc it is windy and technical route.

I also see from Pirongia we are going through Te Awamutu then to Otorohonga is there a reason we cannot go straight through and bypass?
