A guitarist from The Animals lives up the road. He's blinding when he gets the guitar out.
    Really?

You should talk him into a BBQ at his house and then invite us all round for beers.

The lead singer from killing joke is a bigshot for the nzso. Sounds like most of their gigs are in germany these days, where they have a huge fan base. He lives out bethels beach way.

Ok, 20 + years ago but, it does'nt get much better than this one, Hugh Cornwall and his band...the 'Stranglers' .

Circa 1980 , Hyde park ...London
what Stranglers track was that? the pootube video has been yanked.

Funny, I just recetly re-acquired a copy of the best Stranglers album: its called "Live X Certificate" and it was recorded in 1977 or 78. They went to shit after 1980 IMO: waaay too commercial and poppy. Fucking "Golden Brown" fuck that.

Heres my favourite recent discovery: Rock City Morgue

I've just entered the Twighlight Zone..... Neil Young just down the road eh?

A guy who used to be one of the musicians (drummer) for the Two Ronnies & BBC back in the day lives in Opua... Doubt you would recognise him, though, just a bit of trivia.

Bwahahahaha. Yup, white & wet behind the ears. Saw The Clash many times in Camden, the drummer bought a night club in Aberdeen & would treat his missus to a dirty, drunken weekend in the Hotel I worked at, at the time. Fookin hilarious what he got up to.

And I am jealous of you seeing all my favourite bands from that era. Just saying.

His name escapes me but it was post Topper Headon. My timing for once in my life was spot on when I went to Londinium.

Terry Chimes (who played on the first album, credited as "Tory Crimes") or maybe Peter Howard who joined in late 82 IIRC.

its terrible how they went from the sublime London Calling to the unbearably awful "Cut the crap" in less than two years.

I've had a fossick & you could be right on the money. Certainly looks like the drunken rocker who got me into trouble, though the one I knew was a bit more haggard.

I saw these guys live while in London plus my paki mates band, 'The Feckin Ejits', The Stranglers twice[post Hugh] and the Screaming Jets and Midnight Oil.
Plus a few boring ones like Van Halen, Living Colour, Aerosmith and Santana etc
